Objectives of the Assignment (a) Track rehabilitation/ maintenance.
  • Assessment and evaluation of the existing track and propose the best maintenance solution. The assignment will advance the project readiness of the ensuing project to attain the improvement in the project site.
  • To restore and maintain the maximum sectional speed.
  • Reduce accidents minimum.
  • Increase transportation of goods traffic.
  • Increase revenue/earnings of BR.
(b) Bridge rehabilitation/reconstruction.

  • Maintain punctuality and save running time.
  • Increase the sustainability of the transportation system of BR.
  • To run trains with higher sectional speed and capacity in national and regional rail route networks and international connectivity.
  • Maintenance of the bridge will be easier and reduce yearly maintenance costs.
(c) Scope of consultancy services
  • The proposed feasibility study has been planned to be carried out to determine the visibility of the project. The scope of consultancy services for the feasibility study includes are but not limited to the following.
(d) Preparation of bid documents
  • Prepare bills of the quantity of all designed components based on the cost estimate.
  • Assist in department procurement packaging and procurement methods, considering management aspect and size of the contract to attract competitive bidders.
  • Prepare the terms of reference for the detailed design and supervision consultant and coast estimate.
